Matterport Scans [Why everyone should have one]

1.  Insurance

Hurricanes, flooding, freezes, burglary, lightning strikes, and house fires are all outside of our control and can cause major destruction to our homes.  When your home is damaged or you have a loss of some kind, a matterport scan can be sent directly to the insurance company showing details of that room, area, or item.  You can zoom in on every detail, maximizing your insurance claim and allowing you to replace everything that was damaged.

2.  Remodeling (Now or Later)

Along with the virtual walk through, the matterport scan creates a CAD file of your current floor plan.  It details out measurements like room size and ceiling and door heights.  If you have any sort of remodeling you'd like to do now or potentially in the future, having this CAD file of what we call your "as builts" is extremely helpful.  Your remodeler, designer, or architect can drop this file into CAD and begin drawing.  No more need for people to be wandering around your house for hours with a tape measure.  (Note: we always recommend having another scan after a large remodeling job in order to document the new spaces and finishes.)

3.  Peace of Mind

Likely your largest tangible investment is your home.  Having a detailed record makes a loss of any kind just a tiny bit easier because you know what and how to replace the damaged or missing items.  Showing proof of your loss to the insurance company is as easy as sending over the file.
